Where Is The Love?

The orphan is a deserted island.
Alone, all by their self,
abandoned, left to rot in the rocky sea of life.
Where is the love?
The orphan is a single petal.
Ripped away from its beautiful flower,
left to face the gigantic garden alone.
Where is the love?
The orphan is a tumble weed rolling through an empty ghost town.
No one there to pleasantly greet them.
Nothing to hold her together, so she’ll eventually fall apart.
Where is the love?
The orphan is a smudgy eraser.
It can’t easily erase the past.
It can only hope that some else’s mistake won’t hurt their future.

I love it when old people laugh. It shows me there are things to look forward to for the rest of your life. They may not remember what you did or said the last time the two of you were together, but they enjoyed it while it was happening. They live in the present moment because that’s all they have….but they REALLY LIVE it.
